Hello everyone,
I am new here to the forum. I have an 07' L3940HST that intermittently shuts off when operating in a forward motion. I am pretty confident it is one of the safety switches on the tractor that is malfunctioning; can someone tell me the location of these switches? I know there is one located under the seat. Also a wiring schematic would be great if anyone has one.

Before we took delivery of our L3940 we drove it at the dealership and it would
not move for my wife. It would shut off every time she touched the HST pedal.
They done something to the switch that's actually under the hard plastic seat
bottom, I didn't watch them real close but it was inside the seat. Your switch
could just be bad and need replacing.

I joked with her about it that it was because she wasn't built with all the parts
of a man to put pressure on the center of the seat.

That's exactly what mine is doing... There is a pair of wires that run to the bottom of the seat frame to an exposed switch; and there's another pair of wires that actually go into the bottom of the seat which must be taken apart to service; i think there is a switch in there too. I bet the second mentioned switch has the issue. Thanks for the input.

When I'm hooking up to the backhoe I need to see the brackets which are quite close to the rear axles. I have a hard time keeping the engine running as I attempt to pear through the back window of the cab. I tried to jumper the two wire switch under the seat but it didn't work. It is possible my jumper was not making proper contact. I only used a piece of wire with the ends stripped as a test, and would have made something more permanent if it worked.

What is this foam block mentioned being used in the new Grand L models. Mine is a 2009. I wonder if there is a retro kit available.

Someone mentioned the reason cars don't have the dead-man feature is because they were enclosed. It would have been great if Kubota used the same philosophy and removed the seat switch for the cab version. My troubles would be over.
