S650G hood

I am restoring a Satoh S650G at the moment. The hood is held on at the rear with two springs which hook onto the frame at convenient points. At the bottom front of the hood there are two bolts which I thought would attach to the chassis rails. However on my tractor they sit in two open grooves cut into the top of the rails. So if you tilt the bonnet forward to get at the engine you have to be careful that the bonnet does not fall off the front of the tractor. I have a parts book but this does not indicate how the bonnet is attached at the front.
Is this the normal way the bonnet attaches at the front?

I own a S650G as well and this is the way mine is so I am assuming that this is the way it is. I have two hook type clips that are attached to springs that hold the front from just popping off though.

Many thanks for that info. I will rig up something similar for the front of my hood.
