Rust-killer liquid -- anyone remember this stuff??

Hi,I used naval jelly back in the late 50's into the 90's to treat hand saws you would brush it on and wash it off with water and dry it.I still have my first saw.

If you use POR 15, definitely believe every word in the directions about getting it on your skin. You cannot clean it off. You cannot pick it off. You cannot use a solvent to remove it. You will have black stuff on your fingers or whatever for about 2 weeks until that top layer of skin wears off. Ditto for clothing, shoes, the dog, whatever you get it on. It's going to be there a while. I used to have a white dog. Now I have a Dalmation 'til she sheds again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Jay TSC has a chemical converter (not sure of the name) but it is reasonably priced and comes in gallon jugs. I have used it in the past with pretty good results.

I had a new Nextel phone that got POR-15 overspray on it..................two years ago. It looks like it was built this way!

They sell Ospho at Northern Tool also I used some on an angle iron threshold in my shed 10 years ago that was all rusty it still looks the same as when I applied it never another sign of rust, I didn't even put paint over it just left it black.
