RTV Pricing

I have the HDWS tires which seem to work fine up to about a foot of snow. BTW, I'm plowing on asphalt. I also have a set of chains for the rear that seem to help out in the deep stuff. I don't put any extra weight in the back - maybe that would help some too. The problem I've had is in really deep snow - 18" or more - the plow seems to ride up over the snow and then the RTV, with only about 8" of clearance, gets hung up on the snow underneath. It's really only a problem on the first pass when the plow has no place to push the snow. Once I get that first opening I can keep making the path about a half plow width bigger on each pass after that.

I've never used them in mud but I know a lot of RTV owners have gone with a ATV tire for off road use.

Yep. The HDWS tires don't like mud. More than a couple inches and you're done (stuck). Which tire is dictated by your use of the RTV but many of us have found the Maxxis Bighorn's to be the best all-around tire.

Is there a problem with clearance with this setup, they are tires and wheels from the rear of the BX22, or BX2200? Sure looks tough, and sure would provide traction. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

As for using the BX tires, the spec sheet shows them as being 26x12x12. The OEM RTV are 25x10x12.

I would want to get a tape measure out and measure the true height and width of the BX tires. I put aftermarket tires on mine that are 25x10x12 but stand 26.5" tall. They fit but without a lift kit I wouldn't go any higher.

I saw pics of this machine and recall it was heavily modified. Not sure if the mods included a lift-kit.

With 20# pressure, the tires on the BX2200 are 25.5 in tall, 12 in wide, the only problem might be with clearance when the front wheels are turned. I don't know if the RTV in the pic has spacers or not, I didn't get to talk to the owner.

My dealer quoted me a price of $11,600 + tax for a General Purpose RTV with upgraded tires, hydraulic dump, and a brush guard - almost full retail.

That seems like too much to me.

If you got the Worksite version, all those things come with it and the price should be around $10,500.

The other Kubota dealer up North a little way quoted me a price of $11,700 for a worksite model.

I agree with Brian on the price. I paid $10,700 for my Worksite. The extra $200 bucks went towards the wimpy glove box and the way-to-small front storage compartment /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

It might be that Kubota raised their list price this year due to what I would assume to be a successful 1st year product launch with the RTV. I still would call around for the best price of coarse.
