Here's some info that I found at the Carver Equipment Kubota web site:

RTV900Hydr

They're selling it for about $13,000 - lists for $14,700.

I've attached some photos of the available Kubota tools they posted as well.

The tool runs from $1,300 to $2,300 each - yikes!

If they get the tool prices down, why not. But with the RTV HD they may be out to create a new use profile for this machine. They can let partners expand the tool line accordingly.

Very interesting.

LLoyd,
Any idea if the RTV will have better hydraulics in the future or any other feature not now avalialble. I cant buy one untill summer of 2007 after I retire. and Ive been wondering if ther will be more improvements of added features.

I only know what I read on the Internet which means I know very little.

I would guess that the hydraulics are pretty much a done deal in their present state. I know when Kubota first came out with the hydraulic PTO on the Turf edition there were problems with overheating so I would guess the new system has been reenginnered to eliminate all of the original shortcomings.

The only additions will probably be more attachments. I don't know how well any of these will sell because of the cost. Can't you buy a self contained gas operated post hole digger for less than Kubota is selling the hydraulic one? Same with the chainsaws.

There are a number of other members on this forum that are well connected with Kubota that can probably answer this question with greater authority.

Its been said from day 1 that the aux hydraulic system is not for continous use since it can't disipate the heat. The new upgrades take care of that.

The tools are made by another company, I can't recall who exactly. Kubota is simply remarketing them. They are expensive, but there is nothing stopping you from trying to find a less expensive option.

For those prices, I see no advantage to most of those tools.

It's a nifty idea, but it seems sort of gimmicky. A hydraulic chainsaw is not much use and leaves lines to get tangled in fallen limbs, etc...

Hydraulic post hole digger is neat, but at that price you can buy a decent gas powered auger.

Am I missing something here?
