RPMs for PTO

Didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, if I run the tractor anything above say 2200rpm (engine) it smokes me out. The amount of exhaust smoke that comes out fills the entire area as if the tractors in fire. So not sure if something else is wrong or maybe just hasent been ran like that in some time but tried to run it for awhile with pto engaged and without but didn't seem to get any better had to stop after awhile so I could breath haha. It doesn't sound to good either.
you have a problem. that is not normal. you should be able to run at full throttle, with nothing other then a brief puff. this is probably why the performance is down.

Check your air filter and exhaust manifold/muffler.
Excessive smoke on a diesel is either restricted air or excessive fuel. I would expect that your tractor has a mechanical injection system, someone may have messed with the fuel screw trying for more hp.
