Did anyone ever consider his strength may be a result of what he smokes in that pipe of his?

What characteristic sets the BICO apart?

I like the way it feels in my hand but it also is 3/8" drive if you pull the tip off that holds the screw driver bits so you can use it with sockets on nuts or bolts. I know that with modern impact tools this may not be the attraction it was 30 or 40 years ago but there is less chance of rounding off a hex head while trying to break it loose.
Everyone has their likes and dislikes but to me this is an oldie that I like.

With what?

After so many tool suggestions you report that you "got a good hold" but neglected to say what tool got the "good hold".

8" ridgid pipe wrench. Need the small jaws to actually bite, but handle length is the problem.

Here’s the first Knipex tool Im disappointed with. I own several pairs on knipex pliers of outstanding quality. My buddy is a snapon addict and in general I wouldn’t trade my Knipex pliers for his snapon. He bought a pair of locking pliers. I wanted to see how the knipex compared against vicegrip and snapon. I got these in the mail yesterday and I’ve never used them so I can’t say how the teeth quality is. The jaw rack is pitiful. I’ll be sending these back. If these were $5 China crap you could probably squeeze the body in a vice and tighten them up but these weren’t supposed to be crap.View attachment 592779View attachment 592780
Knipex is supposed to have 61 Rc jaw hardness. ... Clamp those on a dowel pin 1/4 turn tighter than you can possibly do by hand, Use a vise to operate the handles. A Vise Grip wont make a mark because the jaws are too soft. If it leaves a mark that is a superiority. If it doesnt, can you now close it at the SAME setting by hand? If you can, advance 1/4 turn and try again. Same result; it is inferior to Vise Grip.

Im guessing it is impossible to extend the handle with a pipe? :confused2:

If I had a pipe suitable to use i would have done so and reported results on it. As such i don't, nor have a looked for one. I had the tractors out and decided to give it another try while draining engine oil.

No worries. The fact that you have a wrench that grips is encouraging news, The next step is easier. So what are you doing with your tractors now, snow removal?

Now do not go rushing things. Easy does it. :D
