rotary Mahendra cutter

I have a 6 ft. Mahindra rotary cutter, for the past 4 hours I have been trying to adjust the front of it to keep it from digging into the ground. I've shortened the lifts, extended the top hitch and I can't get the skids plates to stop digging in the ground. I am beat. I am using a MF 2605. I need to work my pastures before I start back cutting hay. All help will be appreciated.
