Hello Everybody,
looking for suggestion on modifying the factory rollbar on a 226d. it is very well build but to tall for my garage. Anybody have any good idea's to make the top hingeable without changing the strenght to much?? How to secure it in the up position??
Thanks Pete

The only suggestion would be to look at the hinged ROPS that JD put on their tractors. You could get some ideas how a major manufactor solved the problem in a way that they feel safe to sell.

Pete, here's a pic. I (almost) got from a Chinese tractor. Of course you need a square rollbar, but that is 1/4" plate and on the left is a 1" hitchpin, on right, 1" bolt, (probably overkill). Your local machine shop would probably have a hard time bending the plate like that, but you could do the same thing by welding a 1/4" spacer to the top and let the top overlap the bottom, and just use rectangular pieces.
