Try this.Go onto Loftness.com and look up there rock bucket,I think it may be called a kwik pic or something and then you can find on for rent in your area. It looks like it would make quick work of any rock problem. I hope this helped. Robbie

AndrewJ, I'm no help on the rock clearing but you might want to dig a little and test pan your area for gold. Sometimes, where there is quartz rock there could be some gold in with that. This might help motivate the kids to pick up rocks.

I was told there was a gold mine near my property, but I wouldn't know where to begin. do you just pan the raw dirt? i got no clue.

Andrew, the gold mines in the mid portion of SC are not the type of mines most people think of. Apparently there is gold here but not in the form of chunks or nuggets. It is in tiny particles. I do not understand the process but it is extracted from the soil and rock using pools of arsenic (I think). Maybe someone can fill us in on this.

Andrew, And today is St. Andrew's day, forget about hiring. You will wear out a piece of equipment clearing 15 acres. The cost is prohibitive - and that is without seeing your problem. The job you have to do is a long, slow one so you have to have your own piece of equipment. If anybody disagrees with me, then I will only believe them if they have personally cleared the equivalent of your problem. I would also like to know how many hours it took them. I clocked up just over 1000 on my new tractor before I completed once over my 16 acres, and I think no more than 150-200 of those hours was on work other than rock clearing. Old McDonald.

Andrew, you need to watch the Gold Fever show. They will show you how to pan for gold and what to look for. You can even buy a panning kit and video to show you from them. Hope you strike it rich.

I don't think he'll find anything by panning around here (central SC). Here is a link to what I was talking about, it is called the Cyanide Process. Scroll down until you see it:

In my neck of the woods you could sell your quartz rocks for landscaping. People around here love to put quartz rocks around everything from trees to flower beds to even making rock sculptures. One mans junk is another mans treasure. Who know's, you might make more off your rocks then the gold dust.
