Rim Loops - Inside or Out?

/ Rim Loops - Inside or Out? #11
Thanks for the clarification everyone. Makes sense to me. Only other question I have now is regarding the rim bolts. Can I use regular hardware from TSC or is it really necessary for me to use the T27511 cap screws with the extra piece on them to keep them from turning? I'm having to cut all the old ones off so I would need to buy 12. Do the OEM ones really serve a purpose other than the convenience of tightening from one side only?

I would weigh the cost difference. Once tight ( you may need help the first time) you will probably never touch them again, other than check they are still tight.
It would have to be a big price difference for me not to go JD for the bolts

finally got to mounting the tires and cutting the dishes away from the old rims. Now faced with a new set of challenges. The dishes don't fit the new rims, and the loops are shorter than the originals (so the OEM bolts are too long). Guess I need to shop for some dishes that fit and a set of bolts designed for shorter loops?

Man - curdy - just a never ending challenge. So - I can see by the pic on the right - the bolts are too long for the loops on the new rims. Now you have found that the old dish does not have the same outer bolt pattern as the new rims.

What you are saying is - - "Hey, fellas - I'm going to be buying a set of new complete wheels ( rims & dishes)".

I guess my advice - check with the location where you bought the rims - they may also have center dishes.

Now - the last thing that could be a problem - - be sure the center dishes you purchase have the correct bolt pattern as dictated by your inner hub.

Hey - head up - - you have a good week there curdy.

Dang it, that sucks!!!!

I bought a pair of rims for my Ford thru my local tire store. When they arrived he called and I hauled a center to his shop and made sure they fit before mounting tires. I got lucky.

A problem I ran into when buying centers was the pilot hole. First pair was too small.....

Always something. :(
