Reverse Mowing with LT1050

I have had my LT1050 for 2 years now and am quite happy with it overall. This summer I needed to have a relay replaced in the wiring harness because the Reverse Push Button, which allows PTO mowing in reverse, stopped working (it went from intermittent to non-functional within 3 weeks' time).

Is there a way to re-wire the LT1050 so that reverse mowing would be enabled without first turning the key to Reverse and pushing the Reverse button? About 1/3 my mowing (for 5 acres) requires me to back up so it would be handy if I could avoid this process. Are there any owners or service techs who have done this?

Yep. Crawl under. Work the reverse pedal with your hand. Locate the paddle that pushes in the switch on the reverse pedal linkage. Move the paddle out of the way so it wont come in contact with the switch. Done! Mow in any direction you want, 100% of the time. You may want to drop the deck for easier access under the tractor.
