Mowing Reverse Mowing switch

Does it stay on after being pushed or does it come off as soon as you go forward? Sorry the SC2400 is the model Im looking at!

I don't know what model you are referring to but on my 6284 the reverse PTO switch disengages as soon as you go forward again.

On a Husky it is one of the positions on the ignition switch. Once selected the mower will work in reverse.

KC - Cub cadet's (MTD) jargon name for the feature is RevTech - look for that word around the ignition switch or in the machine's brochure...

SC2400 has a switch on the right side, I just wondered after you depress it once will it stay on or do you need to depress it each time you go backwards?

I stand corrected on my 6284 reverse PTO switch. According to my operators manual:

PTO Reverse Override Switch
The PTO reverse override switch is located on the
left fender. Depress the front of the switch to
engage the override which allows the PTO to oper-
ate while the tractor is traveling in the reverse
direction. The indicator light in the override switch
will illuminate when the switch is depressed to the
"ENGAGED" position. Once activated, this func-
tion remains activated until the ignition switch
is turned to the OFF position.

It's been said... but, I thought I'd chime in.

As a Sc2400 owner, I can assure you that you press it once and it stays on until you turn the tractor off. So, for me, that means every time I mow, I just remember to hit the button right off the bat and I'm good until I'm done.

Is there a way to bypass the switch? My father just got a 2400 w/blower, and he always forget to hit the switch. Not a fun proposition in wet snow.

Search the forum and you will find numerous posts on bypassing the switch. Most switches are mounted near Reverse Pedal under the tractor and can easily be bent to clear the pedal when depressed.

Wet snow where do I begin

after digging the chute out a couple times he will learn or do like me get mad at my own stupidity, slam the hammer I carry in the cab (the claw kind of fits tru the side handle insert twist and it stays there thru anything)on the side its got a rubber cushion thingy on the butt of the handle it bounces up out of my hand hits the back window and crack!!! Oh did I happen to mention it was the first day after I had put the new back piece on the cab that I built to replace the vinyl now I get to buy another $90. window

some day soon I hope I find where my memory went but also learn to control my temper

I never looked into it I always figure I will learn to hit it when I pull the pto switch up
although some days I like the reverse lock out thing
