Yes, it has been very difficult to remove large stumps with the backhoe. I agree that renting an excavator would be the best solution, however, I just spent $20,000. for the tractor, and have limited funds in reserve for a rental. I wonder if cutting or grinding "teeth" in the backhoe bucket would help to tear through the roots?

TG: I have no idea. I guess I would ask the dealer - or maybe someone else in here can shed some light on for you. I don't know how experienced you are with a bucket but it took me a little while to learn how to optimize it.
