replugging a tire

My B2150 has filled rear turf tires and a prior leak in the tread that was plugged. Yesterday, I noticed it was leaking slightly so I decided to replace the plug myself with a tire plug kit. I actually needed to put in 3 plugs in the same hole and was still getting some leakage when I brought the pressure up. I'd like not to have to remove the tire and calcium chloride and bring to a shop where a patch can be applied...too big,heavy,cumbersome and time consuming.
Any ideas on how I can repair in place?

There is a "new" type of plug, or at least newer. It is a larger, round, black rubber plug that feels like soft rubber as oppposed to the sticky rubber cord 'worm" type. It worked for me when the worms didn't. They are hard to insert but work well. Thye are about tapered in shape going out to about 1/4" with alittle nipple thta you put in the needles eye. That does not work on thick tartcor tires so force the beginniing of the plugg through the eye and after several tries you'll get it.

The other thing that might help would be to use some of that "rubber cement" that comes with the plug refill kits. If you clean the area up real well and can let it sit overnight it gives a little better results than just plugs.
