Road surface is a mixed bag...

Trailer will have a load next week.

Dealer suggested the Super Duty might benefit from a suspension upgrade?

If the trailer came with a full 80 psi in all tires and there's no load, it will react to any road imperfections.

Ideally the trailer's pressure should be adjusted to match the load on the tires, just like with the tow vehicle.

I doubt that the tow vehicle's suspension is at fault here, but am not surprised that a dealer would suggest it.

You are right and I adjust tire pressure on 2 of my other trailers...

I will check...

Thank You...

Also, it may take a few miles for a new trailer suspension to start moving somewhat freely.
A run with a decent load should help with that.

After taking a 200 mile road trip to get new tires on the tractor I did notice the ride is smoother with the trailer behind me. I think the problem is the truck suspension needs the weight on the rear axle to have some travel. Otherwise the stiff suspension has no give.

Checked Tire Pressure tonight and the max 80 psi tires are between 91 and 95 psi... So 20% over max and this was at temp in the mid 50's

Trailer has two 7,000 lb axles...

That would make it hop on every road bump.
I was not along for the ride home… only heard about it.

Back when I worked at a dealership put of my teenage duties was making sure the tank was topped off, all tires properly inflated and check all fluids.

Seems like no one checked the trailer prior to delivery?

What I have found over the years with different trucks and trailers, is, the balls location. If it is too far forward, the harmonic frequency seems to rear its ugly head. I can't really explain it. It seems to only happen under light throttle, pulling. Hard pulling, coasting and easy cruise, all is well. My '21 with the factory hitch is smooth. My other three trucks that I mounted the hitch on:D, buck. I have them all forward quite a bit. The Ram is almost centered.

It's the pop up location when factory propped for the GN

If memory serves it's slightly ahead of the rear axle...
