Replacement Seat for a BX 25

1500 Hrs and my seat cover has gotten brittle and has a large tear at the bottom. What experience is out there on replacement seats other than the Kubota part? What problems were encountered installing? Mounting of the interlock switches? Does any other model Kubota seat that is more comfortable exist? Has anyone found a replacement mounting system that is easier to rotate for the BH ops?

Price is not necessarily a consideration, comfort is.

Any help will be appreciated.

Don't have BX25 but I did swap the seat on my BX to a better one and Kubota charged me $50 back then.

The newer seat was more contoured and I just would have lived with the old one but for $50 it was money well spent.

Mine is inside and so far holding up well.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are Kubota Dealers with seats sitting around.

I found lubing the swivel made all the difference...

Did you decide to hold onto the BX?

Thanks Ultra, I could not get the dollars I wanted last fall so I wound up keeping it for awhile. Good thing I did; I have put 100 Hrs more on it upgrading the landscaping, irrigation, and roof drains at the new place which is in a subdivision. Once I get that done it will go on the sale block again. Meanwhile I will be selling some implements such as the two gang disc, 6 way back blade, rototiller, brush hog, landscape rake.

Can't keep a good man down and the BX has to be about the handiest helper around the homestead...

Glad to hear it is still earning it's keep!

Never made it up your way as planned... my renters like WA so much they extended their lease... blessing and curse as it keeps me from spending time in the Evergreen State.

I replaced my seat on my BX about 5 years ago. It just got brittle, and that was from sitting inside too.

I just wish the seat had more grip to it. Depending on what I'm wearing, I find myself sliding out of the seat, which is annoying.

On my upgrade tractor, one of the comforts I am going to try to get is a better seat.
