I to had a stubborn knob on one of my BXs. In fact I sort of broke it where it connected to the metal. It stayed on but turning was really easy since it just spun around the stub. I use to have a fairly strong grip or it was really weak.

The PTO is the first thing I hook up, and the last thing, working from the left side of the tractor, its much easier to attach it before the lift is attached.
Put some WD or liquid wench on the height knob shaft and let it sit over night, continue to work it until its freed up, then check it periodically. Mine was tough back in 05 when it had 60 hours on it, never had a problem since.
just take your time at first until you master the connections and such. And always double check everything, otherwise it will cost mucho dollars.
One thing I have learned while owning is never to rush anything, you'll pay either in dollars, blood, or worse.

Will do on the WD-40. Seems the BX thrives on the stuff. A few months ago the Hi/Lo gear shift became impossible to move. WD on the linkage and it shifts like new.
