Ok, now for the puzzle: Take a look at these photos. Top photo is the fuel filter I just installed today with the lift pump in upper left. Great. Finally over with.
Now WHAT IS THAT THING in the second photo that looks like a whitish plastic or nylon glob? That photo is looking upward under the chassis to the rear of the fuel filter. The fuel line goes from that glob to the fuel filter. No idea what is inside the white plastic glob if anything (mounted alongside the frame) -- maybe a needlessly complex elbow? The line into that palm-sized white plastic glob comes from somewhere forward in the tractor, NOT from the tank or anyway certainly not direct from the tank. Can't see anything going in/out except for fuel lines.
One guess: There is a fuel shutoff valve somewhere near the dash or engine compartment and fuel lines run from the tank to the shutoff and then back to the white glob and then to the first fuel filter in the sequence.
Anyone know ? The operators manual does not offer a clue and I do not have a service manual.
