Can't seem to get the injectors free from the head on my 71 3000. Am pretty sure they have never been removed and seem to be stuck tight. Have tapped with a plastic hammer and pried with a 2 foot long screw driver like the manual shows but am afraid to get too forceful.

Any tips?

Hi try soaking with a good pentrene and leaving o/nite if that does not work some tool suppliers have small slide hammers that can screw onto or hook under the injector if this doesn't work you can try leaving the holdown nuts loose and run the engine hope you dont have to do what i had to last week and remove the head and use a drift to drive them out:mad: (last resort though) when you put them back in a coating of anti sieze helps you or the next person immensly. GOOD LUCK

Thanks,

Managed to get them out this morning. Used an aluminum rod and hammer to tap them around as far as they would go without removing the studs.. Back and forth a bit then a couple pry bars and they finally came out.

From the looks of the injectors it amazes me it would even run.
