Removing hydraulic hose

   / Removing hydraulic hose #11
You may be able to fabricate a wrench to make the removal without removing other hoses. Determine the size of wrench needed and get a box end wrench that size. Then cut a piece out of the far end of the wrench to fit over the fitting. The end would end up looking the the end in the specialty sockets shown, but the handle would come straight out. Cut the lenght of handle off as necessary to fit.

Anyone know the thread used on the ford 4500 industrial tractor? Would be nice to take a handful of pipe plugs/caps, so I can seal the system up while I get new hoses made.

Great idea!!! Thanks for the tip.

A lot cheaper than a bunch of pipe caps.

Any suggestion about the female valve ports?

And it might be worthwhile to look closely at the 2 hoses you will need to remove to see if they might be worth replacing since you have to take them off in any case, it appears...
