removing hydraulic fluid from sysytem

Is there any way to pump out all the hydo. fluid in our tractor ? we have water in it and want to get as much out as possible before changing to good fluid. It has a loader and backhoe

Start with all the cylinders in the retracted position, that will get the most amount of oil into the tank, then you can remove lines at the cylinders and drain as much as you can from them. Fill the tank back up and cycle everything SLOWLY then check the oil for contamination, it may take more than one flush to get all the water out

Be sure to install new gear shift handle boots if you haven't already done so. Also check to be sure hyd filler cap breather is clean IE not plugged.

You can hook a hose to one of the remotes & while holding the other end in the bung hole of an old barrel feather the valve until you have run most of the fluid out.

Drain all lines & cylinders. If a cylinder has 2 hoses, you will have to move the rod in or out as to drain the fluid from both sides of the piston. Remember to drain all cylinders / hoses you have on implements also.

If you can remove the reservoir cover which is under the seat on most tractors you can then finish removing the oil & wipe out any foam present.

Change the hydraulic oil filter. Re-assemble & refill.

Cycle cylinders a few times then top off reservoir.
