Removing 2 point hitch????

Hi guys, I have a 1602D, and want to remove the large housing that holds the lower pin for a two point tiller. Are there any issues with removing this housing, as my lower 3-point lift arms hit it. I tried to search on this but didn't come up with anything.

If we're talking about the same thing, I took it off on my 1602D with no adverse affects............
