Hi guys,

Anyone successfully removed the steering sector on a LT1050? Is it possible to do without pulling out the whole pedal mounting plate? I can't see a good way to get to the sector mounting nuts on the top of the plate. I'm trying to replace the tie rod end bushings and the nut is just spinning on the bolt, so either the nut or bolt is stripped. I might get lucky and cut the nut off and still have a usable bolt, but I am probably NOT that lucky!

Wow! Thanks rcbe! That is EXACTLY what was needed. And as I suspected, the drag link pivot bolt is stripped so the sector WILL need to be replaced. Evidently you have the entire service manual? Are these available for sale somewhere?

Jay - that's a section from the cub cadet 1000_1500 series repair manual that I was able to download at no cost from PDF Manual Web Archive . You'll need the FULL model number and serial number off the ID plate on your machine (prolly located in the cavity under your tilting seat) to access the site. One caveat - I got my d/l some time back - it may or may not be available now.

Thanks again. Only the Owner's Manual and Engine User's Manual are available there for mine.

I appreciate this post. I downloaded some good info on my mower.
