Has anyone here seen female couplers on their remotes that do not have a collar to slide back allowing the "bb's" to retract? Stumped could use some help

Did you ever see a collar on the QD?

Maybe the sleeve keeper broke and the collar got lost.

Are the retaining balls still there?

Do you have a picture?

Will get picture this weekend. Remotes were installed brand new (OEM, Mahindra) last fall. Haven't used yet. They are solid, no moving parts except valve pin. Balls are all present, but no external sleeve to pull back and allow balls to retract. Very confused.

I have seen some where the locking ring stays back, so all you have to do is push the male end in, and the look ring snaps foreword. When you pull the ring back to unhook, it stays back. I don't know if that's what you got, because I've only seen them once in hydraulics, and I don't think they worked too well.

I will look again when out at the farm this weekend. I don't need them right away, but it will drive me nuts not knowing. By the way, the retaining balls are not retracted and don't seem to want to either.

With these OEM female QDs you just take the 1/2" male AG end and just push it in. When you go to remove the male end, you push in and then pull out all in a quick motion. Waaaaaaaaaaaay better than anything with the collars. I believe that all the Mahindra OEM female ends are this way. I know that mine on my 7520 and 3215 are.

That is similar to what I was thinking, just never seen it before. I am used to QD's on air lines, and can't picture how these work. I will give Lawalls a call tomorrow morning. Galen is very helpful, more then the dealer I bought it from.

Thank you all for the responses.

Kubota OEM is the same way. The sleeve is fixed into the block that the remote mounts into.
One advantage is that if you forget to pull the hydraulic lines before you drive off, they just pop out, no harm done.

Correct, and again waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than any of the units with collars IMO. ;)

The ones with collars (at least the ones I have gotten at TSC can be used as the breakaway style.
It takes:
Double Breakaway Clamp: Pioneer Double Breakaway Clamp - 1824481 | Tractor Supply Company
2 double acting sleeve quick couplers: Pioneer Quick Coupling, 1/2 in. Double Acting Sleeve Set - 1824407 | Tractor Supply Company

The sleeve part of the couplers goes into the clamp and is locked in place so that the inside moves (not the outside sleeve).
