red and white wire

I have a man that I work with, who has rewired a YM2000 that the dash wires were burned up. He has the tractor starting and running. He said that he has one wire left not connected to anything. The wire is red and white like a candy cane. Does anyone know what this wire is? Thanks big dan

Just did a search for yanmar wiring and wiring diagrams posted there. It would apear that the wire in question is a head light wire. big dan

High beams.

This summer I replaced my chassis-to-hood connector. I noticed they cleverly used red/yellow for the low beam wire and red/white for high beam.

This is the diagram for YM240, the US-version twin of that YM2000.

California it was your wiring diagram that I found on the search. I ran my tractor today and found the high and low beam. Its been there for 5yrs and just now found it. But to be honest it is hard to get me to work in the day time much less at night. big dan
