Record Rainfall

So much for the drought in Northern, Central VA.

Before 6/25/06 we were six inches below our "normal pattern".

Then a low pressure system pumped over 5 inches on us day before yesterday, and another 4 inches yesterday.

Today the area can "expect" more of the same.

Needless to say, we don't need any more water.

Our renovation project has come to a standstill, running new electic and plumbing lines have given us that moat look and feel.

Also took the soft top of my Jeep for the summer - that works everytime

We're getting desperate for a little of that water over here in Texas. I'm at the point that I might just wash my truck. Seems that it's time for desperate measures!!!

Know you guys North of us here in Central NC have been getting hammered. We have been getting some it, but not like you guys. Saw on the news last night in Washington where the IRS was flooded - but didn't wash away - DANGIT!

Also saw on the news where we are forecasted to get a good drenching over the next few days ourselves. A lot of concern East of here (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) with this, the rain from the weekend and Alberto a couple of weeks ago are really making things difficult for folks down east. Those poor folks get it from the rising waters and run off from this area. Some of those people still haven't recovered from Hurricanes that happened 3 to 5 years ago.

Yes, we were in the same boat. A couple of months ago we were desperate for rain and local governments were putting in water restrictions. Now we want the rain to go away.

We live south of Eddie and we have been HAMMERED by the rain. There is a private weather station a few mile to our east that got almost 4 inches of rain one day last week. Friday the rain was so heavy with strong winds that the chimney was leaking. I have heard the ping of water before but it would stop before I could find the leak. Not a problem this time. The water was just getting blown into the chimney cap in running down the outside of the pipe in the attic.

When this happened last Friday the radar showed yellow rain fall from I95 west to the mountains. It was solid except for the red and purple areas. Never seen this before. Radar estimated we had 5 inches of rain.

I have been trying to move some brick cubes. The area I need to cross to move them can be soggy. I have been trying for six months to do this but everytime it dries out enough we get rain. The ground in question can turn to jello just using the tractor much less moving 1,000's of pounds of bricks.... Well it will stop raining someday.....

Oh, oh....you shouldn't have said that. The IRS now has your IP address and will monitor all your financial transactions and record all your phone calls. Expect an audit sometime this year.

Just be thankful all this rain isn't SNOW. I hear there is more on the way in the next few days in the N.E.. I can't remember the last time I took my motorcycle out for a spin. I was going to do it yesterday and this storm front came in just as I was leaving. I had to take the truck. No more rain, please.
