Tell us more about the bahia grass, pls. Area needing dethatched is what? Pasture or lawn?

Would a pine straw rake or a landscape rake work for the kind of thatch that you need to remove? i.e. something heavier than spring teeth like in a hay rake?

It's the lawn area. The mowers don't seem to work as well as cattle when it comes to yard care. Certain areas have become compacted with thatch. Weeds are taking over in those areas. That doesn't seem to happen in the pasture. And it's too much to do by hand.

I need something with very little pressure so it won't rip the grass out. The place I got my tractor from recommended a product from Titan, however they are not a Titan dealer. Everything else he found he believed would tear up the yard. Sounds like I should look into the rakes you mentioned.

Thanks.
