Tire Selection rear tractor tires

Will a 11.2x24 tire fit on a wheel where a 14.9 x24 tire is? 11.2 seems to be readily available.

naa, you could go up to a max of a 13,6-24 or 2 levels.

11,2 12,4 13.6 etc,

it may look funny at 2 sizes up but usually fine

i think you will want a 12" wide rim for a 14.9 tire not 10" etc..

Your rim is too wide for a 11.2-24 tire. The 11.2-24 is too small for your tractor. We stock 14.9-24 tires, see link;

i said you can go two levels. a 14.9 uses a 12" rim. a 124. might fit on it.. but not an 11.2.

yeah i did read his post wrong for which way he is going.. however the info i posted is still applicable. only about 2 sizes difference works.

I would start by finding out what size rims you do have, and what model is the tractor.

Not enough information and too many assumptions for a 1960's tractor.

It is possible that it had 12.4's on it to begin with. Then at sometime years ago, someone put 14.9's on it. In that case yes, an 11.2 would likely work.

Rims are designed to work with a range of tires. Maybe 2 or 3 sizes. If the 14.9's are the MAX for that rim, then it might work to go smaller. IF the 14.9's are the minimum for that rim....not likely.

considering there are 16.9's available...
