REAR REMOTES

I WANT TO ADD 2 REAR REMOTES TO MY 4110. I'VE DONE SOME HYD. WORK, BUT NOT MUCH. WOULD IT BE CHEAPER TO BUY THE PARTS FROM AFTER MARKET, OR GET A KIT FROM THE DEALER. DELER WANTS ABOUT 500 FOR THE KIT. THAT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT, BUT I HAVEN'T DONE HIS WORK IN A FEW YEARS. 2 VALVES HOSES AND ENDS. THANKS FOR ANY HELP. ANYONE DONE THEIR OWN?

That's a very good - darn good - price for a remote kit that looks good and was made to fit the tractor. Almost too good compared with what most tractor brands want for rear remotes.... although you still have to add the hoses that go out to the implements. Buy them online.

If you are a hydraulics guy with metal-working tools & don't mind the mounting work, then you already know that you can buy valves online and cobble something together for somwhere about half that price. $250/300 would just be enough to buy you a medium quality 2 spool directional valve rated at 10/12gpm, a handle kit, a basic rt. angle valve bracket, a couple of 3' hoses with SAE ends, and some fittings.
all at Surplus Center & you can price it there.
But keeping it from looking homemade is going to cost more time than the difference in price.
