This is my first tractor, I have had it about 1 year now. I have never dealt with hydraulics before or a tractor for that matter.
the learning curve has been large but I am doing pretty well.
My question is this? I have rear remotes with just 2 ports and the hydraulic control is mounted on top of the fender. Its position is just 2 ways push forward or push back and it returns to center. If I want to control a 3 point top link is it as simple as 1 line to one end and one line to the other and just pull back or push forward for in and out of the top link????
next question I have a 25 ton log splitter and if I wanted to control this with the tractor could I bypass all hydraulics on the splitter and just pipe into the splitter ram with the same action as I stated above? from posts I have read they say this might be too slow, I only split wood now from cut downs and dead falls not for my heat any longer as went to a whole house pellet furnace.

Thanks for all the info us newbies get here :dance1:

If the valve is a one spool valve, you have two work ports, which will connect to the cyl.

Yes, you could use tractor valve to do that, but you really want to be at the log to control the action.

Why not just run a supply hose to the log splitter and stand at your work station.

There are several ways to connect to the log splitter.

Plug into the work ports and bungee the lever to supply fluid to the log splitter.

If you have a FEL and it has a PB port, you could extend a hose to the back and connect to the log splitter, and run the tank line to the hyd filler cap.

If all the valves have the same GPM rating, you should have the same flow through all valves.

Hey Ripley,
Moved to Colorado from Dexter, ME two years back. Now I have my first Kubota and am messing around with the rear remotes. I have a 2013 B26 TLB and am trying to figure out which hose is return to the reservoir and which hose is the power beyond. On the left-most ports the backhoe spool has the letter D on the top rear remote attachment at the spool and the letter O on the bottom spool attachment point. The D line goes back into the top of the tractor rear end (white arrow) and the O line goes into the side of the tractor rear end (orange tape on line). A lot depends on answering this basic question correctly. Thanks to JJ or whoever can set me straight. I'll edit the pictures as needed. DSCN0861.JPGLine D in.pngDSCN0868.JPG

The D line is probably the PB.

The O is probably the tank/return line.

Some BH will have three lines.

I don't recognize those stamped letters, so that is a best guess.

Can you operate the 3pt with the BH attached?

JJ,
Your question "Can you operate the 3pt with the BH attached? " sent me to the owners manual for the BT820 backhoe, because I have the hoses loosened trying out different configurations and don't want to start the tractor. Well, there it was in the owners manual, see photo. DSCN0871.JPG
