I am looking to fab a quick attach plow for the FEL on my Kioti, not sure if I should go with a rear remote kit or third finction. I want to maintain all controls on the FEL but be able to angle the plow, so would a rr kit or 3rd function be my best bet based on...

I have nothing that needs a rear remote right now, nor any immediate future plans.

If I went rear remote, I would have to run a set of hoses to the front.

I could see myself getting a grapple for the FEL before any rear based hydraulic implement.

I am really leaning towards a 3rd function, but know little about them or where to get a kit or parts for a DIY kit. Any suggestions on a source would also be apprecited!

Install this selector/diverter valve for the grapple.

Surplus Center - 12 VDC 13.2 GPM SAE 8 DOUBLE SELECTOR VALVE

Install these two solenoid valve on a two valve subplate for the rear remotes.

Surplus Center - 12 VDC 10 GPM OC MOTOR SPOOL SOLENOID VALVE

Surplus Center - 2 STATION DO3 SERIES OC SUBPLATE

Keep in mind that the first valve in series that uses all the pump flow will leave no fluid for any valve after the first valve that is using the fluid.

In order for more than one valve to use fluid, the first valve in line could only use say half, and pass the other half down stream.

If you are using a rear valve and activate the first valve in series fully, the rear function will quit.

Open center hyd system components are all in series.

Closed center hyd components are in parallel.

A solenoid valve will provide full flow all the time.

A lever valve can be feathered for slow operation, etc.

Hmmm, a new option, a diverter setup? I would love to piece together a kit and ot seems cheaper, but I have to do some reading to get up on hydraulics....

So I would be splitting one of the FEL functions and using an electric switch to divert flow to the angle cylinders, yes?
Would this system utilize the relief valve for the FEL also?
I assume any two way 12v toggle switch would work?

Edit: or am I seeing this setup as a way of switching the actual controls for the FEL to change from an existing function (like curl dump) to another, like blade angle in my case?

Using the diverter valve, you simply re-route the curl hose to the input on the diverter valve.

You then connect the curl cyl hose to circuit one, and the grapple hoses to circuit two.

The default circuit is the curl with no power applied.

Press the switch and the grapple circuit becomes active and controlled by the joystick lever.

Got it, thanks! I am assuming those 3 components you listed are weather tight and can be mounted in an exposed area on the tractor? Looks like a cheaper and more custom route for what I need, perfect! Might need to pick your brain some more as I get this worked out, I have seen your posts on hydro and seems you are the man to talk to ! Thanks!

That setup will not need a pressure relief, yes?

No additional relief.

The tractor relief valve in on the FEL valve, and another on the 3pt..

Sorry to hijack the thread. I'm working on the same project and have questions.
Will the selector valve allow the function of both SA cylinders or do I need 2 valves?
Will the speed of the angle cylinders be normal or will I need to reduce the flow somehow?

Thanks much guys

Speed of the cyl is based on the flow applied.

2 in cyl, 1 in shaft, 5 GPM, = extension speed 6.1 ips

-----------------------10 GPM = extension speed 12.3 ips

At 8 gpm that seems to quick for a plow, if i'm wrong then feel free to say so...

Thank you Sir,
This is the beginning of my hydraulics education.

You can either use needle valves to adjust flow, or use the feather part of the valve to gently apply fluid to the cyl for slow operation.
