My DF254G2 has 2 sets of rear remotes which latch into position. I would like them to spring back to the center like the loader controls. Is there a way to do this ? I know how the spring is set up in the loader control and was wondering if this could be applied to the rear remotes as well.

Thanks, Cleat

I have the exact oppisite issue. I also have two sets of remotes and when running my backhoe I want one to stay open so I have to tie it open as the control handles are spring loaded to center.

@ cleat: You have to remove the detent kit and install the centering spring kit. These should be available from the valve manufacturer, possibly through your dealer.

Chip, at ARTRAC, sold me the tractor. I'll check with him.

If you ever use a 3pt log splitter, the 3 position detent comes in handy. I would suggest leaving one of them with 3 position detent.

Somewhere in the parts manual for your tractor, there is probably a part number for the spring center kit.

I have the same set of remotes and prefer them as they are, although what JJ said would be a good idea. For log splitter, backhoe, I don't like the idea of the 'bungee cord' to hold it in one position. With my hyd. top link a spring retun to center would be useful. Didn't help with the technical side but axious to see your outcome.

Unfortunately my parts manual only shows the valve as a unit. I talked with Ray Hillman at Devonn Tractors and he thinks a spring kit from a valve from princess auto may work. Next time I drive to Kingston I will take my cap at least from one of the valves detents to match up a size and go from there.

I do not burn wood and if I ever add a hoe I would run a PTO pump for more output so spring center is what I want as I am running a snowblower with hydraulic chute turner and hydraulic hood.

Snow blower is driven by the rear PTO I want spring center for the chute rotation and top hood deflector cyllinders.

I misunderstood as I thought your snow blower was driven by a hyd PTO pump, and you are saying that it is driven by the PTO shaft, and the chute and deflector is hyd. Got it.

I managed to convert to spring center using parts from Princess auto and some washers. I kept the 3 position parts in case I ever want to switch back.

I doculented the parts used and have attached the file.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks cleat, great job!. May do the same to one of mine. I bought the BM20 valve at PA for my front remotes for snow plow etc. Nice to know the parts fit the 'remotes' valve setup.
