Hello Guys,

I need some input how I can customized my three point back blade to have adjustable tilt (manual). Can you guys share some pictures of what you have done. My blade is the Land Pride version for my Kubota BX2660.

Thanks,
Romulo

Does the top link not give you what you're looking for?

Sounds like he wants to made a road grader with a hydraulic two axis tilt.

Most of the time I'll see people run a hydraulic link on the side of the 3-point that's adjustable instead of the screw adjuster. That should give you enough angle for most jobs. More angle than that and typically you're going to end up digging in too hard on that side and bending, breaking, or otherwise causing issues.

You cant get enough adjustment on the sidelink? If not post some pictures of the blade, especially the back and so we can give some ideas.

How much tilt do you need?
Do you have a picture of your 3 point mechanism?
Can you not tweek that, is there an adjustable link you can
turn way up and add tilt?

Here's another dumb question related to this. Using a scraper blade or box scraper which is pulling a loaded implement. Would the draft control keep it at a certain height. I'm thinking it won't because of irregular load on the rear draft spring sensor when the blades unload in low areas while leveling. This is where road graders have the advantage. The blade adjust height as the machine moves down the road, or the operator is watching a inclinometer and making corrections as he/she goes.

Hi Artisan,

If i can get around 25 to 35 deg max i'll be happy

Why so much? :confused3: It's not like you will put that blade in the ground a foot and pull it and get a trench with a single pass. You will need to make multiple passes and on the second pass the tractor will be in the ditch, so that in itself gets you at more of an angle. Most 3pt hitches adjust to get you between 10-13 degrees of tilt. Have you tried to ditch with what you have currently? If you really need the 25*, then get another adjustable side link so that you have 2 and you can max them out in opposite directions to get the angle that you want. I would forget about modifying the rear blade, it just isn't necessary IMO. ;)

Another option is drill a hole in the lift are so you can repostion the side links to get more angle like larger tractors have, you will just want to think it through before you do it because Kubota probably didn't do it for a reason. Most blades will only go to 30*.

Romulo posting up pictures of your 3pt
and implement will most asssuredly get you some really good responce.
Sometimes it is a pain but my experience is that
with pictures you get way more / better help.
(Not sayin' the help here is bad! Ha! )

There is a saying here;

No picture, then it never happened...

Think about it... ;)

If you look at some of
my threads that have about 20 thousand views each
you will see the majority of them are content rich...
with that content a LOT of pics... You know exactly what
your talking about, although we try your explaination
be be different then my interpertation... Did i say that right? Ha!

One picture = 1000 words. 1000 words is a lot of typing for us hunt & peck typers. Some pictures of the hitch would surely help the current situation and the idea of drilling another hole in the lower clevis is a good one, just need to get it in the right place so that there is no binding on the clevis. ;)

Here are some pictures I had of my 3PH. So you guys can see a BX 3ph.

I would say that by collapsing the adjustable side link all the way and drilling a new pin hole in the clevis leaving about 1/4" of extra room when in the raised position. I think that the OP will get close to if not more than 20* of tilt.

I'd cut out the aft running square tube and replace it with a telescoping .250 wall round tube inside a .250 round tube with 2 flanges & indexing bolts. Not a trivial job, but one that will hold up to the additional loads imposed by loading the blade at one of the outer edges when ditching. It should also add about 20 or 30 pounds to the assembly, which with rear blades is all goodness.

The more I think about it, the more I think you would be better served by selling the blade for what it will bring on CL and using the cash to buy a more capable implement with tilt (offset is real nice for ditching, too).

25 to 30 deg is a lot of tilt for a back blade. Look at the "tilt" part of a top and tilt set up if you have Hydro connectors on the rear of your tractor. If you don't have an adjustable length lower link arm(s) then you could look at putting one on (or two) for a truly "manual" operation. Lengthen or shorten one side (or both if needed) to give you the tilt you are looking for.

A bx has a adjsutable sidelink but he may be a able to buy another for the left like you said. That may be the cheapest and easiest idea yet.

30 degrees is about 13-14 inches DIFFERENCE between right and left sides of a 3 point - if you really need that much, you'll probably need to cut your back blade up and start over, or find another way to accomplish whatever task you're trying to do... Steve
