At least tell us when (approx) the later date will be.
Guys, you haven't been duped. However I've been duped...by the Auto Industry bailout AND the "Cash for Clunkers" program! I aborted the project months ago, and didn't think to come back and let you guys know, because I thought for sure the thread would be dead and buried by now....boy was I wrong and I apologize.
I am going to school for a MS in Management. I "was" doing a long term study on the makes of Americans' vehicles, their choices and why.
Part II of the question was going to posted in November 2009, roughly one year from the original post. The question was going to be:
1. If you traded/sold/donated the vehicle(s) that you previously posted, what did you buy as a replacement and why?
Well, as you can probably surmise by my previous statement about me being duped, the "Bailout Crisis" of the American Auto Industry, well, pretty much all the big 3, coupled with the Cash for Clunkers program screwed everything up.
People who may not have traded, did. Also, they may have traded for an import rather than American (which as we all know is what happened with the majority who participated in the program). Because of the bailout crisis and lowered consumer confidence in a weak American Auto Industy, many people who were loyal Big 3 fans may have chosen not to buy from a company who was bankrupt and in the red, or who were concerned about sloppy workmanship from an employee who wouldn't have a job long, or were concerned about warranty issues. The list of reasons is long. I know you are all a smart bunch of folk. I know it won't take a rocket scientist though to figure out the reasoning behind me canning my research. There are too many variables now. With the bailout and cash for clunkers, I can assume, which is all I can do, that a choice of another vehicle has been altered by any of the many influences related to those two programs. I needed choices made "just because" and not because they are getting a good deal from Uncle Sam, or because they are afraid to buy from a company who is on the rocks.
So, I apologize for letting this drag on. I'm very sorry. I haven't been on much in quite a while and as I said earlier, I thought this thread would be dead and buried.
