I knew about the high priced keys, but of course that's the same with many other makes and models, too. I did not know about the wiper blades. Of course both of my Fords are 2001 models and I've replaced the wiper blades myself 2 or 3 times; just get them at Walmart or AutoZone. And the Windstar came with the keypad on the door. I had one installed on the Ranger; didn't need it, just wanted it, so that was $149.95 and a remote clicker was $45.44. I didn't like that, but didn't figure it would be any better with another make.

I choked when I had to pay $30 to replace a key for my Chevy Lumina. I about went balistic when I heard that the ford key was $80. Incidentally, I think the remote clicker is still in that $50 range.

I always replace my own wiper blades too. I tried every store in town and they all said the same thing, "Oh wait... these won't fit. I guess you have to get those from the dealer". I even went to some service stations just out of principle. I would have paid a service station to put them on rather than pay the dealer's extortion fees. When my wife finally caved on me and took the car to the dealer she informed them that if she was paying $40 for wiper blades, they were going to put them on for her.

I like have a fiesty lady sometimes.

Hey Podunk, how's your count going?
Would love to know what you are collecting this information for.

Can't reveal that information at this point. It would skew the results. I know what you're thinking...how could it skew the results if Podunk just posted that he has all the information he needed? Well, I can't tell you that. Let's just say there will be a part II at a later date. The question in this thread will be pertinent to the next question/vote/poll. It's a two part series.
