WEll that definitely is your opinion. For instance, my tractor is only rated to have 2 weights per wheel at 95lbs per weight. 400lbs of ballast for a 80 hp tractor is almost laughable. The loader manual suggest that a set of wheel weights, fluid in the tires to the tune of 1500lbs and a 2klb counterweight is required at a minimum for correct ballasting. There is no way to get enough iron on the wheels to be ballasted correctly without exceeding the OEM's ratings.

Just adding to this, on my Kubota the rear tires are filled with washer fluid at about 80% fill because fluid does not compress like air, if you fill 100% and hit a hole/large rock or something that compresses the tire the washer fluid could blow the tire off the rim. just food for thought.

According to Kioti, wheel weights are NOT available for the CK27.
As for calc. vs R-G. I would rather pay the big bux for R-G than later down the road having to replace the rims. I had to do that with my old Farmall C. I ended up getting them welded and rebuilt for about $100.oo each. Rim Guard is easier on animals' feet, too.

I had CaCl in the rears of my previous tractor and fought the corrosion it caused continually. My current tractor has Rim Guard and it is a true blessing. No leaks, no corrosion and no other problems. This adds 720 lb/tire.

In an ideal world all the ballast would be external cast iron.................but...............
Diluted windshield washer fluid is an acceptable compromise if using liquid ballast.

Back when I did mine I got a 55gal drum of -20 WWF for $38. That and a $10 valve I filled it with a pump in 2 hours. My tires each held 20 gallons so I used the other 5 gallons in my vehicles.
