You have to wonder if he drove over something like a rock or a curb and bashed the heck out of the center blade or spindle. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this way, but dragging that nice expensive deck around while moving, scraping and levelling dirt just never seemed prudent.

Problem Solved!
Yep there was indeed an object struck with the deck. Center shroud around the blade /spindle was bent inward enough to just catch that blade. I hammered it out and we are good. Can't believe I didn't check that earlier. So no more lending it out when I'm not in town!

No kidding! My right front gauge wheel is bent in and down (previous owner). I put my little 6 ton jack in to straighten it and it springs right back to the bent position.
Have you tried heating after you get it to where you want it with the jack. Sometimes a little heat will remove the "Set".

I've only got a small propane torch, but yes I used it for about 20 minutes when it was stretched. It is better than when I started, but still not straight. I can't imagine what they hit and how hard. Must have stopped the tractor cold.
If it was hit hard enough to bend the deck in you probably need to check the rest of the mower suspension system to see if it got tweaked too. I am thinking mainly of the front hook ups as opposed the the lift arms. Look for obviously bent stuff and/or krinkled paint. I would go back through the deck and make sure you can still level it from side to side and front to back. I am so glad my wife does not loan out any of my tools.

You need to jack it beyond were it needs to be so when it springs back it is where you want it.

That's why I like fabricated decks. They can take the abuse and keep going. I was cutting along a fence row on my Hustler and hit a cut off tree that stopped the mower in its tracks. No problem..just go around and no damage. This mower weighs more than a ton so it had some force. It seems pretty easy to bend the stamped MMM on my Bota.

Well, sure the BX deck isn't made of 3/8" plate, but it's no flimsy thing either...it's a 250 lb deck, 'way more than what's on a residential mower. As a detachable implement on a multi-purpose machine, I figure it's pretty darn good... ours has held up well for 8 years. Besides, when we're digging in the dirt and rocks, we get more work done if we take 5 minutes and remove the deck first.
