Well I got a Ratchet Rake last week, and finally got a day to install and play with it. It is awesome! I have been tearing out live oak scrub and vines all day long. Works like a champ! Knock it down, drag it out, and push it to a burn pile. I probably should have bought the next larger size (I bought the smallest one. Should have measured my bucket first), but it is doing the job. I should have bought one of these a year ago!! This thing is solid!

Glad to hear you like it, I was looking at tooth bars and then watched the ratchet rake video, I may end up going that way also.

If I may ask a question of you, what swayed you to the ratchet rake vs others (assuming you looked at others)? If nothing changes, I plan in ordering a pyranha blade Monday. Can you back drag smoothly with the ratchet rake?

For my purposes, I could not be happier with it. I bought it mainly for clearing scrub. I noticed yesterday after using it, that this could be darned handy for smoothing out small areas of my pasture, and also to move/spread dirt and gravel (for larger applications I would definitely use a blade).

I am not familiar with the Piranha products. I chose the RR as it is easy to install and remove, does the job for what I need on my place. As for back dragging, I was able to do that effectively, to ball up the brush and could even push it into a burnpile..

Welcome to the RR Club. I keep mine mounted all summer. Just the thing for Briars & Buckthorn

I think I'll be leaving mine on most of the time. It's just that handy.

I wonder of you could attatch it to a grapple. You could then pick the piles up as you go.
