This time of year when my road is icy, I have orders delivered to the General Store one town over. It costs me, but delivery drivers have enough to contend with W/O sliding off my icy road.

I do wish they would take notes though, one way is maintained in winter, the other might get plowed if somebody feels like doing it.

FedEx offers delivery to hubs or locations such as Walgreens and Dollar General. I have used it when a signature is required and I may not expect to be home.

Amazoom opened breakout center in Rochester a year back, crap arrives in 53 footers, crosses breakout floor and goes into mostly private vehicles and sprinters rented from Amazoom fleet. Neighbors all mad about number of cars & trucks comin & goin.

8 months later dey putting up new monster building other side of town on old Kodak distribution property. Figure to have 500 people workin out of there haulin crap to customers.

Just announced first breakout outgrown, putting up a new one mile away. Neighbors der goin nuts, buyin ads on radio to get people to yell at town politicians dey don't want it. I bet de building wins. Be better if put in one of abandoned malls, but Amazoom get what dey want.

I want something just go to Froogle and let de G do de work fer me. Amazoom usually high end of available prices.

Sure wish I been smart enough to buy ZoomStock back when he peddling just books on line, but is what it is.

Shipping date (12/05 from VA), and I have not yet even received such an "Arriving late December 15,2020" type message.
Tomorrow (12/16), will be the 11th day enroute (650mi) for the little package of implement "hair pins".

It's well documented and a Federal Court had to step in to stop it from going further.

If you believe that a cost cutting measure by USPS who has been losing billions of dollars a year is a deliberate attempt to delay the mail then so be it. Everyone knows that junk mail rates are much lower than first class mail rates and aren't delivered as fast by USPS for that reason. When USPS warns states that sending out ballots by junk mail rates in order for the states to save money, may slow the deliveries and possibly not be delivered in time, this is not deliberate slowing of the mail by USPS, it is deliberate slowing of the mail by the participating states that wish to mail ballots the cheapest and slowest way.

Read carefully unbiased reports such as What’s really going wrong at USPS. to determine if there really was a deliberate attempt to slow down mail by USPS or whether it was a conscious cost cutting method to cut down the billions the postal service is losing each year by merely delaying some mail from 2 day deliveries to 3 day deliveries.

As I went out to get mail at our local mail station I noticed a plastic bag tied to my plastic curbside garbage bin.

This was a gift sent by a supplier for Xmas.
Good thing it was not a garbage pick up day.

How lazy can he be.
Also how tempting for thieves.

Think I should report him to his superior.

OK, was not registered so he'd be off the hook and again since it was a gift I would not have been aware had it been stolen.
Also since it was a box of chocolates some animal could have been hungry enough to eat it.
Being rural we have all kinds of wild life.

Last year my wife's Xmas gift never arrived, bet it was that same UPS guy, and did I have a problem making a claim.

i'm building my house and garage and have ordered thousands and thousands of dollars on line, none at Amazon! It's an effort to avoid amazon!

I can just see that beazos? guy losing sleep because i didn't buy my chop saw from him.

I wonder if there is not a business opportunity. Seems i have to return way too much of what is shipped to me. Most times it's the wrong stuff but many times it's damaged.

A person could set up a physical location for online returns and pick ups.

Probably never work but, in my world, if it's wrong and less than $40, i throw it out. it's just not worth the hassles of returning.

Ordered tune up kit for still chain saw. Sent wrong plug, twice! Is it worth it to return it?

On the other hand, i just spent 6 months fighting those SOBs for $40. I finally won but that was really a case of, cut your nose off to spite your face. Most people would have caved, as they should.

Slow shipping is bad enough. But incorrect tracking info just adds fuel to the fire. Here's my experience this week on an order for an air compressor from Home Depot:
Ordered 12/7 (Debit card charged immediately.)
Delivery promised by 12/24 or 12/25
First tracking info was that it was 'on the road' on 12/9
Next info was that it was delivered 12/11 -huh? I didn't get it!!!
(Shipper's "Customer Service" only works 8-4:30 Monday thru Friday; no info over the weekend)
On 12/14 shipper says delivery would be 12/21
Compressor delivered 12/15.

So much for tracking information.

For inexpensive, easily available items like a spark plug, why bother to order it on line? Local auto parts store, Walmart, TS...any of them should have it. Maybe 50¢ more, big deal.

I don't order there a lot, but I've never had any problems with Amazon. I mostly use them for items not readily available (or considerably more expensive) locally.

Had a Bay seller switch tracking numbers between me and someone else. The one they uploaded showed delivered a couple of hundred miles away. The package I got the same day had a completely different tracking number.

Amazon does? Never heard of this. I used to stay away from Amazon but no place offers so many items with free* shipping and decent packaging. I got tired of setting up accounts with my cc in it all over the internet just to buy one item one time somewhere. Add to that poorly packaged stuff falling out of the box when it gets here. Amazon seems to have much less of that. I tried and still use PayPal but many places do not take that either.

* I pool up orders to get to $25 and then select free shipping.

Amazon sent an item to me via FedX.

FedX delivered to wrong address. A few days after getting the notice of delivery from Amazon and NO package received I asked where it was delivered. They just replied that they had checked and found out it was mis-delivered to the wrong address. I asked where it was delivered. and they said the seller does not have any more of them so Amazon will refund my credit card. Which they promptly did.

Never could find out where the item was supposedly delivered to.

I just waited until I was going to the Co-Op and picked one up there. It was $1 more than the Amazon price.

A couple of weeks later FedEx delivered the first one and driver told me to keep both as FedEx ate the loss already. It had sat my oddball neighbors front porch for two weeks and they had to walk around it multiple times a day. I had seen it sitting there and had wondered about it.
