I believe they share some parts between Dodge, RAM, Chrysler, and Jeep. For example several vehicles may have the 3.6L Pentastar engine. I think some FIAT heritage is also creeping in.
And GM/Ford share a transmission right now.
Does that mean they are the same truck? Of course not.
Ford’s class 6 & 7 trucks have GM/Allison transmissions. The changed the name to “World transmission” to keep the embarrassment to a minimum.
