Ram vs Dodge/Chrysler - how complete is the separation?

I believe they share some parts between Dodge, RAM, Chrysler, and Jeep. For example several vehicles may have the 3.6L Pentastar engine. I think some FIAT heritage is also creeping in.

And GM/Ford share a transmission right now.
Does that mean they are the same truck? Of course not.

Ford’s class 6 & 7 trucks have GM/Allison transmissions. The changed the name to “World transmission” to keep the embarrassment to a minimum.

Gasoline…and I meant “one and done” with Silverados. That’s what I thought you were asking about.
I’d pick another Ram over a Silverado any day

I was going to mention that the Rams seem to have a lot less problems than the old Dodge trucks.

They in fact do, but some people have trouble realizing some products improve.
Ram is a great example of a product that improved.

So you're the guy making all the marketplace adds for 4WD trucks and mislabeling them D250s.

At least as of 86-probably earlier but that was my first Dodge, the 4WD models were Ws.
