... I did a little more research and along with what you found out, I got him an Oregon Scientific one. The one I looked at was priced anywhere from $50 to $65 and the $50 one was at Amazon so I got it from there.

Just to make it clear for those still reading this thread. The original op had a price point criteria. My companies recommendation had much to do with that. They did think the "Rainwise" product was superior over the Oregon Scientific stuff but the RW wireless remote was about 3 times the original price criteria. Just something to ponder if you are looking for something in a raingauge that may be a more accurate and substantial product
