I'm going to try that solution next winter. Last year the squirrels ate 90% of the bird feed. Also had to store the feeders in a shed every night to prevent raccoon destruction. Already have some old 6 inch PVC and assume that would be even harder for them to climb than 4 inch? No bears around here to worry about.

My parents gave me a feeder the brand is droll Yankees? It works well. They try to chew the metal top to no avail and the spring loaded legs dump them off.

Coons hit the sweet corn early this year, ears were only about 2 inches long. Body count at 18 so far, I don't take prisoners. Can't get 'em all but sure can thin them out.
