Don't mind Tom Seller, he's just a useless troll who isn't capable of making worthwhile, non inflammatory posts.

As for the EZ shift, there are very few numbers that use one. I have not heard any rave reviews about it, and my dealer won't even stock them because he is not a fan of the system.

Having owned a shuttle shift before, I really don't see much benefit to adding the EZ setup.

I have had a 4041ez for two years now - I have had very few problems with it but at around 200 hours (have about 280 now) I had some minor issues (a electronic module that needed to be replaced) with the ez shift. These were well taken care of by LS and the dealer (all under warranty).

After owning it for awhile, do you still find the EZ system as a helpful add-on? I never used it myself. ..

What situations do you find it most useful?

To be honest, other than only pushing a button to shift - thus perhaps saving my clutch and leg muscles a bit - it has been pretty good. Funny - this was an advantage in the winter (when it was minus 40) when I couldn't move my leg because it was frozen!! :) ... but when I am bush-hogging and need to change speeds often (depending on where & what I am cutting) it has been pretty handy as well. To me, it has been useful at times (and I am used to it now), but not necessarily a deal breaker. The other thing to keep in mind is my rig is babied! :)

Thanks guys. How hard was it for you to get use to the ez. I mean did you have to think oh I have this in order to use it. If I had to think about it I would probably just hit the clutch out of habit. Main reason I am not keen on a hydro.

You get used to it. .. quicker than you'd think. Each of my 3 tractors have been slightly different in that regard, you really do learn it quickly.

At the beginning it took a little time to get used to - but I still use the clutch at times ... because I can! :)

I think the best part of it is being able to go from forward to reverse without clutching. I don't really use the push button.

Ok so how often do you actually do that? I have found with hydro reversers that the delay is too lang when using it for loader work. Like when loading a trailer with dirt or litter or hay even I roll into the trailers. Is it still that way with the ez.

Not trying to sway you, but that is one of the best things about HST, no lag and you're less likely to run into stuff. You can move fractions of an inch per second, and it will stop moving the second you ease up on the pedal.

My fear with them is how well they hold up. I am one that uses a foot throttle a lot I set a gear and min rpm mainly for hydraulic speed and use foot throttle to control speed during project. Unless it is something that requires pto speed then I just set and go. I do use a disk and ground drive rakes. I have seen on here that they are not good in ground engaging uses. Why?
