R3 Fine Turf questions?

Hi:

I'm going to trade in either the 3320 or the 2305 for a 3720 Cab (I'd love to get a 43/4520 cab but it's too tall for my garage and no front snowblower is available).

Anyway, Currently I have R4's on both but I'm going to go with R3's on the new one (or swap them to the 3320 if I trade in the 2305). My question is that I'd love to try the Special Turf (golf) tires as I've heard they are great on snow, etc. I was wondering if anybody runs the Special Turf tires on a 3000 series and has any comment. The only downside I know of is that you can't run the 72" MMM with them. Running a 60" on a 3000 series seems like kind of a waste but I might get up to a 110" RFM depending upon what I decide. (I'm running a 72" MMM on the 3320 now with the larger (loaded) R4's). Why do I want to go with Turfs instead of the R4's? Where I use the 2305 the soil is pretty soft and even the 2305 R4's leave marks once in a while so I'm sure if I had a 3320 there with the large R4's they'd leave a lot of marks.

Any opinions? (There usually are plenty?)

Trade in the 3320, as you are going for a 3720. that way you have the flexibility of both sizes of tractor.

Well, the question was really on Turf vs Fine Turfs to which I got no response.

But I've decided (I could still change my mind) to keep the 2305 and trade in the 3320 for the 3720 even though the 3320 is newer. I have a mower/BH,loader/blower on the 2305 and don't want to lose the BH and loader and those would cost a fortune extra on the 3720. (I'll recycle my 72"MMM and 300CX loader from the 3320 to the 3720). Also, as mentioned having a small tractor could be nice. The 2305 is only 48" wide and I can fit anywhere.

I went with Turfs since oddly enough the Golf tires aren't compatable with the 72"MMM and also since I figure they'd puncture more easily than plain old R3's.

Hope I made the right decision...

Ooops I responded before I picked up a set of Golf Turf Specials (you can see them in the thread), and have them installed on my 4310. The funny thing is that I have a 72" MMM, and they fit fine. However, if I installed the rears at he widest setting they probably would touch. Another thing is that the fronts are bad enough trtying to fill with air, and the rears would be a lot worse. They also looked like the valve stems were way to close to the axles

Yes I think you made the right choice.

Those turf Specials really would not fit huh. Was it period or was it at the wide setting?
