My Kubota dealer in Faribault Minnesota quoted me $13,500 for a BX2230 with MMM and FEL. seems steep to me esp when I see the same thing from a NY dealer for $10k, would be worth the shipping methinks. Opinions? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

mewantatractor,

Check that NY dealer's price again. That seems too good to be true.

No on second thought, it can't be true. [At least it doesn't seem like it could be to me...]

Are you sure that 10K included a MMM AND loader?

The following link seems accurate at least where I travel:

I have had several dealers quote me a price on a BX2230 with FEL and 60" MMM. All were between $12,500 and $12,700 without any negotiating. This would be close to $13,500 with sales tax. Did your quote include the tax?

i was looking at that exact same package before i decided to go a bit bigger (b-series).

i was quoted at 2 places..both came out the same...

bx2230, FEL, 60" mmm, and weight box for 12,900 out the door (tax etc included)

mewantatractor,
First off, I bet you do!! I love my BX and all the snow it moves! I did some bargining when I bought my BX2230 in Jan. IT came with a 54"mmm, FEL and Backblade for $11,700. Anyway, you can do well if you shop around and bring a quote from a long distance dealer to your local dealer and tell him you want to keep your cash local. It worked for me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

the $10k kubota is listed in classifieds on this site. actually $8199 plus 1899(?) for the FEL . And the $13.5k was before tax.

I was thinking of pinting the ad from the classifieds at tractorbynet and taking it to the local. Mind reader!

Just to let you know it took me 4 visits to get my price. Patience is a virtue in this case. If your dealer is like mine he will need a actual quote and then he will come down little by little as you wheel and deal. But it can be worth it. LEt me know if you want the name of a dealer in Indiana who will give you a good price. IT will be lower then the price I eventually got but too far for me to travel for a 500 dollar savings.

got lots of patience. the more money I save the more toys (um, attachments) I can afford. What do you think of this; shouldI look at the BX1500, though a smaller engine would have to work harder and might even use more fuel than a 22hp or perhaps not last as long? I have a 16 hp snapper which seems to be plenty of power for mowing and snowblowing. alas it is old and way too light for my newly aquired 3.6 acres. sadly the dealers around here only stock the bx22 and are reluctant to order or even quote anything else. I saw a post elsewwhere that the 1500 is about 2 grand less than the 2230???

Don't get me wrong, the BX1500 is a good little tractor, but.....if you can afford the 2 grand I would go for the 22hp and extra cylinder. I asked the same thing when I was shopping and Henro and the Art and the rest of the guys here on the forum would all tell you that you can never have enough power so get as much as you can /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I am not a expert by any means but the 22hp diesel in the 2230 is a workhorse and I am glad I grabbed this one.
