I believe a dovetail trailer might make it easier to load if you have a mid mount mower deck attached. Having a dovetail gives you two smaller cresting angles for low hanging mid mount implements where a flat trailer with ramps has one greater angle to pass over that the mower may hang up on. I use a tiltbed trailer so don't need ramps or a dovetail. If you don't have a mid mower I don't see where you need a dovetail tailer.

As mentioned, the advantage would be decreased breakover angle when loading. But, My Brother and I have identical trailers, his is dovetail and mine is not. I used his before I bought mine and had to be very careful due to the dovetail dragging on uneven terrain (dips, railroad crossings. driveway entrances etc.) and this was the reason I went with no dovetail on mine, of course I don't have a MMM either. Just thought I would throw in this possible disadvantage of the dovetail.

I have a 5'X10' utility trailer with a 4' ramp/gate thats used to haul a BX1850 with a 54" MMM. Works Great.

Why I also wouldn't want a dove tail.

You actually haul a BX1850 on such a small trailer.

Do you think I could haul A BX1500 on my 6x8 trailer?

Yes, I have hauled my BX1850 over 500 miles on such a "small" trailer. I don't think you need a trailer with a 14k
capacity to haul a 2k tractor.

If its a well built 6X8 I would haul your BX1500 in a second.

Here's my trailer,

I agree!
That's why I only have a 12K trailer for my 2K tractor!
