Rear Blade Quick rear blade question

Ok, I am looking to purchase a rear blade for my Kubota L2050 2wd (25 hp). I am considering either a 5 ft or 6 ft blade for general road maintenance, ditch digging, and whatever else I can get myself into. So, here is the question...is the 6ft blade reasonable or should I stick to the 5 ft blade. I like the 6 ft because I will get good wheel coverage when I have the blade angled. I am afraid it will be too much for my tractor though. Anyone out there with any expert opinions on this subject.

Personally, I'd go with the six foot blade. As you mentioned, it will cover your wheels better. Having a wider blade also makes cleaning ditches easier. I wouldn't worry a whole lot about your tractor's ability to pull the six foot blade. The work you are looking to do isn't very demanding, and you can always lift the blade up to take a smaller bite if you get bogged down.

Thanks! That was my main concern. I didn't want to over work my tractor with too big of a blade.

Not an expert by any means, but I am sure that you would not have any trouble with the 6' blade. I bought a Land Pride RB3584 (7" blade) to do driveway repair/maintenance at my place My tractor is at the minimum end of the HP requirement for this blade and it has no trouble with it. Check out the Land Pride website, they have a lot of good info.

I've looked at the Land Pride equipment. It seems to be very high quality and folks on here seem to like it. I will be going with the 6 foot blade once I get the permission slip signed by my wife!!
