ATI makes good quality quick attachment plate. Any of the equipment auctions like alex lyons or petrowski's usually have q/a plates, or thru a local tractor dealer. There was a post here on TBN a while ago with dimensions to make your own. Cheers

I bought a couple of these and they fit well and were not disappointing but it would depend on what you were going to do with it. I made a SS quick attach by 3Point hitch adapter so that I can use my pig pole, Sub soiler and such on the FEL.

That's the one. (Nice price)

Thanks

Update: I called and order the one from ebay "KFI" SKID STEER MOUNTING PLATE
they said it's universal--I hope it fits.

The KFI plates are a good bargain... high quality and reasonable price.

Just a bit of advice from experience... the plate as you receive it will be flat and square... the plow mount you are welding it on might not be. I welded one onto a fork frame that I had fabricated... welded one side fine, and the bottom of the other side was touching the fork frame fine, but there was about 3/16" space between the frame and the plate at the top. I welded the bottom and then used a large clamp to pull the plate up to the frame at the top and then welded it. When I went to hook it up to my tractor, I found that my method had twisted the plate slightly and it made it hard to make the pin engage on one side. Lesson learned, leave the plate square and fill in gaps at weld points with weld, reinforcement, etc., whatever it takes. If I do another, I will probably attach the plate to the tractor side, engage the pins fully, and then tack the implement onto the plate. Remove the whole assembly and finish welding... I think this would keep it as square as possible so it lines up properly with the tractor side.

westbrooklawn,

Thanks for the advice it's very helpful.
I was planning on cutting the mount plate off the plow mount and welding it on the new plate. HF has a saw that cuts through metal --well we will see.

hopefully this thread will help members looking for Q/A plate.
the link that dex pasted has all the info:ATTACHMENT MOUNT PLATE SKIDSTEER BOBCAT SKID STEER #050 - eBay (item 170408706111 end time Nov-28-09 07:02:30 PST)

I order it direct from there phone number on the ebay page not through ebay.
I recevied a email confirmation for the order --very professional.

I went to the John Deere dealer last week to ask about attachments of my older JD tractor (1980 Model 2240). The dealer told me that they don't make attachments for that tractor and FEL (Model 145) any more. I asked for information about QD attachments for a tractor approx the same size and what it would take to build a QD for my FEL. He told me that I would be better waiting until next year because JD was changing their QD in 2010 to a Skidsteer style mount.

Does anyone have any info about this?

Do a search on "quick attach adapter" and I think you can find one. There are several companies that make them. I looked a year or so ago,if I had saved them I would have posted the links.

Are they all the same functionally, or are there differences I need to be aware of?
IE: Larger and smaller sizes for different size machines, different means of attachment by brand, etc.

Also, how do I know the difference between the piece wich mounts to the FEL and the piece which you would use to build an attachment?

the peice that is always attached to the loader arms is the "machine side"
the peice that is always part of the attachment is the "attachment side"

they *should* be all the same, and i have yet to see one that is different. it is an industry standard on modern machines. i seem to remember loading an older gehl skid steer on my lowboy that was different, but same idea. Anything described as "universal skid steer attachment plate" is going to work.

as for size difference, the little walk-behind bobcat MT series mini track loaders use an identical, but smaller system. exact same idea, just the plate isnt as wide or tall, b/c the machine is so much smaller. they do not interchange w/ the larger machines

Check out my post on Craigslist Eastern CT under farm and garden for some photos of snow plow adapters I make. Use the search term"plow adapter"

I can be reached by email at rsr025@ct.metrocast.net if you have any questions.

Wrong side. I'm looking for the machine side to adapt onto an old JD 145 FEL.

Dcyrils,
I'm scouting bobcat salvage places and repair shops to find a machine side 'Quick Tac' plate I can use to make an adaptor. I've got a Bro-in-law in East Tx that works in a repair shop and he tells me he sees one every once & awhile. They seem to be difficult to come across used. I priced a new one at $450 in town.
Good luck with your search,
Rgds,
tim

The first one I found was all ready to bolt on to my 2240, but they wanted almost $2K. I thought that seemed a little high and kept looking. I've found two places selling the ones you adapt to your machine yourself for $499. Thought that seemed much more reasonable.
